Somewhere Downwind
Somewhere Downwind is a visual diary that aims to capture the nature of dwelling. Each of its four succinct episodes are set within a single room. What transpires there is determined largely by the weather that animates the surrounding landscape. The siren songs of the sky speak to the unseen ghosts that are always in the room, activating generations of memory that have long lied dormant.
Somewhere Downwind measures our sense of permanence and tests the vulnerabilities of our chosen shelters—whether those shelters be relationships, houses, or communities. We move between dance, mime, and puppetry with live accompaniment by Aaron Rourk and Zack Nestel-Patt on the double bass and clarinet.
